Our Leadership

Lora Witt, Phd

Lora is a qualified barrister (non-practising) called to the Bar by Lincoln's Inn in 2012, an accredited civil and commercial mediator, and CEO of Templeton Swiss Group.

With more than 16 years' experience advising entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices and corporate clients across the UK, Europe and the Far East, Lora has developed a broad commercial practice spanning mergers and acquisitions, corporate advisory, taxation and dispute resolution. She is frequently engaged as interim or in-house legal counsel, supporting businesses through complex strategic transactions and commercially sensitive matters.

Lora has extensive experience advising on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, disposals and corporate restructurings. She supports clients throughout the transaction lifecycle from strategic planning and due diligence through negotiation, deal structuring and completion. Her experience includes coordinating multidisciplinary transaction teams, managing legal and commercial due diligence, advising on Heads of Terms, reviewing and negotiating Share Purchase Agreements (SPAs), Asset Purchase Agreements (APAs), shareholders' agreements, warranties and indemnities, disclosure exercises and completion mechanics. Her commercial approach ensures that transactions remain focused on achieving clients' strategic and financial objectives while effectively managing legal and commercial risk.

Alongside her M&A practice, Lora is recognised for her expertise in private client and corporate taxation. She has advised extensively on HMRC investigations, Loan Charge disputes, Accelerated Payment Notices (APNs), penalty appeals, Disclosure of Tax Avoidance Schemes (DOTAS) and Promoters of Tax Avoidance Schemes (POTAS) matters, as well as Code of Practice 8 (CoP8) and Code of Practice 9 (CoP9) investigations. She has successfully represented clients in individual and group settlements with HMRC and is the author of numerous publications on tax law and private client taxation.

In 2019, Lora was invited by HMRC to assist in the development of the Loan Charge disclosure tool, designed to facilitate voluntary disclosures by affected taxpayers - recognition of her specialist knowledge in this highly complex area of tax law.

Lora also advises businesses and senior executives on a wide range of employment law matters, acting for both employers and employees. Her experience includes executive service agreements, restrictive covenants, workplace investigations, grievances, disciplinary proceedings, contract disputes, redundancy and restructuring programmes, settlement negotiations, and Employment Tribunal proceedings.

Clients value Lora for her commercial insight, pragmatic advice and ability to navigate complex legal, tax and transactional issues with clarity and precision. Whether advising on the acquisition or disposal of a business, resolving a contentious tax dispute or supporting a company through a period of strategic change, she combines technical expertise with a practical, solutions-focused approach to achieve successful outcomes.
